It might have saved the site, but the governors' choice is the worst possible for the girls of St. David.s. Please express your opinion by voting in our poll
A round-up of a very diverse series of events this year. Where has the year gone? It has been a busy year for FoSD with a variety of different events taking place. All our events have been well supported this year and the committee is grateful to all the parents who have taken the time to come along!
Thanks to all the fund raising we have been able to provide the school with a number of with a number of “extras” again this year. They include the adventure play equipment, musical instruments for the prep school and one of the senior maths classroom has been completely fitted out with interactive white board equipment.
Three FoSD events (he Auction, the summer Fayre and the Junior Disco), as well as the usual school shop and second hand uniform sales. Full details can be found inside, in our Review of the Year
I am delighted to announce that work is starting on the senior gym as soon as the term ends and FoSDs contribution will, I hope, ensure all the work goes smoothly.
Due to work commitments our Chairman Ashwin Gandhi has retired as Chairman, we would like to thank him for all his hard work and support over the last two years. Debbie Reynolds has also retired as secretary but continues an active role in FoSD by continuing to run the second hand uniform shop. These roles have been filled by Diane Hogan as Chairman and Olwen Dowse as Secretary.
Allocations:
FoSD has been pleased to supply the school with the following items: Computer equipment for the Learning Support Department, TV/Videos for History and RE/Psychology, data loggers for science, easels for art, equipment for languages, Hi-Fi and costumes for the Junior School and, as mentioned below, keyboards and music stands are now on order. A large donation was also made towards the path and crossings in the car park.
I know it has been some time since FoSD published a newsletter, in 2005 in fact.
Our intention is to switch over to an emailed newsletter, but as we're all volunteers, that is taking some time. So we are publishing in the more tradtional paper format still.
