No legal Worries, No Money Problems, It's all about confidence
Last night we were told that if IES take over the school they will inject new investment. We don't have to worry about the school's finances.
Today we heard that the Charity Commission have been in contact to say that there are no legal objections to the trplacement of St. David's board of trustees by new people selected by IES. So, we don't have to worry about money; we don't have to worry about the legal obstacles to a transition to new governors. All we need is confidence in St. David's as an institution, confidence that it will still be here in September.

Reassuring parents - and girls
One comment from last night was with reference to deposits that parents have had to pay for places at other schools. This is obviously a problem for parents who would prefer to stay. IES said, that other schools shouldn't really put parents in that position while it is possible to save St. David's and added "well, if they want to play that game, what if I said you could discount any non-refundable deposit from your next term's fees at St. Davids?" - he also said "we've got deeper pockets than they have"

Latest Update on the rescue plan
The news is that the company and its Chairman are now supportive of the
intention to take over the school. So that is a positive indication - what
they are now doing is looking at the feasibility of it. This afternoon (5th May)
they are talking to the school's solicitors to see what can be done about taking
the school over. Things seem to be going in the right direction - and our contact says that it may be that they will want to talk to parents again this
week so we need to think how we can get people together at short
notice.
